| Volunteers are the strength of our organization! They not only provide invaluable service to our clients but also supplement our operation budget by way of in-kind donations. In 2010, Lydia Place and Wise Buys volunteers donated over 9,900 hours of service or an approximate value of $214,200, based on the estimated dollar value of volunteer time for 2010 published by Independent Sector Study. There is a volunteer opportunity for everyone, whether you are looking for a short term project or a regular commitment. At Lydia PlaceVolunteers currently fill the following roles: - Client Support Staff: Monday 9:00am-1:00pm, Thursday 9:00am-1:00pm and Friday 1:00pm-5pm positions are open (3 months commitment required)
- Children's Program Assistant: Mondays 5:15-7:00pm and Thursdays 5:45-8:00pm positions are open (3 months commitment required)
- Supportive Services Children's Program Assistant: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:45-7:00 (1-2 times a month) at off-stie locations (3 months commitment required) Please contact Jessica at: jessicah@lydiaplace.org

At Wise BuysLydia Place's thrift shop located at 1224 North State Street is a great place to donate used household items year round and to volunteer. Volunteers, organize, price, and cashier during regular shifts. At the Garage SaleIt takes over 50 volunteers to receive, sort, and price items the week prior to our community-wide garage sale in August. Volunteers also help cashier and load purchases on sale day and of course clean up! LeadershipLydia Place has a diverse and dedicated Board of Directors who support the program by providing vision, direction, and fundraising. Board recruitment normally begins in the fall for the upcoming year. Community members are encouraged to participate on Board Committees. Current committees include Program Management & Development, Community Relations, Revenue Management & Development, and Human Resources.
